BFrank
What do you folks think of this guy? He apparently only released 2 albums in the early 60's and then dropped out of the scene. I've tagged both of them for download on EMusic, but was wondering what the "experts" thought.
Rooster_Ties
Great question!!! There's already a fairly long Jimmy Woods thread here (on this very board)... Jimmy Woods - CONFLICT, first U.S. CD release, w/ bonus tracks!! I'll bump it up so it get's into "Todays postings" too... (I figure we might want to add to that thread, rather than start another Jimmy Woods thread.... ) Edited May 10, 2003 by Rooster_Ties
JSngry
Cat could definitely play! Ain't he on some of the earlier Gerald Wilson things too?
BFrank
It's amazing how, over time, that Gerald Wilson Mosaic gets better and better. First off, you have Harold Land, Teddy Edwards and Charles Tolliver; then the recent revelations about Carmell Jones from his "Select" set; finally, finding out that Woods is there, too. BTW, I didn't mean to abandon this thread, but after Rooster pointed out the lengthy one already going in the Reissues Forum, I figured it would make more sense to post there.
