jazzman4133 Posted July 1, 2004 Report Posted July 1, 2004 I'm constantly on the lookout for anything with Mary Osborne on it. I found this album under the name of Jack Sterling, who was a radio personality in the late 40's. He also played the drums and fortunately takes a backseat here to Mary Osborne, Tyree Glenn and Tony Aless. (The L.I. Suite). Mary gets in some nice licks as does Glenn on vibes and trombone but the big surprise was the clarinet work of Andy Fitz. Good stuff. Anyone ever hear of him? Quote
Larry Kart Posted July 1, 2004 Report Posted July 1, 2004 Andy Fitz probably is Andy Fitzgerald, onetime member of the Joe Mooney Quartet. Didn't we have a thread on vocalist/accordian player/organist Mooney a while back? Quote

Brownian Motion Posted July 1, 2004 Report Posted July 1, 2004 Andy Fitzgerald played on a Coleman Hawkins Signature date in 1943 and held his own in some very fast company. Quote
