jazzbo
Probably not retrogressively. But Europe '72 and even a few earlier were produced with the process. https://www.discogs.com/artist/6942727-Plangent-Processes
mjzee
Listening now to the St. Louis December 1971 shows from the box. SQ is odd - volume sounds too low, and I really have to crank it up. Yet when I look at waveforms in Amadeus Pro, it seems the mastering is just fine. I wonder what could be causing this. The 72 & 73 shows sound MUCH better. The November Austin TX show issued on Road Trips also sounds much better. Phil’s bass just doesn’t come through like it should on the 71 shows. Rest assured Phil Lesh sounds incredible on all 5 shows from 72 & 73. Tremendous performances and great sound via Bear (72) & Kidd (73). mjzee
Just got an email for the next GarciaLive release (vol. 18, 11/2/74). Garcia and Saunders doing Freedom Jazz Dance?!? I'm intrigued how it sounds. Paul Humphrey on drums! It's also interesting that this is just two weeks after GD went on hiatus. This is the first sb i.e. Betty Board release; only audience recordings available before. I'm in!
Brad
Listening to Dave’s Picks 41, which I picked up from Lon (also 42-44). Forgot to renew in 2022 so I got lucky.
