All,

can anyone shed some light on me about those recordings as I stumbled over them wwhen looking at www.jpc.de selling some of the Delta reissues like This here.

so are those the same:

e.g. This here

and also this ?

from Musicbox.com

Thanks, Tjobbe

EDIT: I understood so far that those german Delta ones are re-issues from Radio Braodcasts....

I haven't compared the track listing, but the recordings are the same. Delta Music reissues (2 CDs in one cardboard sleeve) are the most recent, they sound very good and are also very cheap.

Some of these Delta Music reissues are also available on hybrid SACDs, but only as one disc, so some music is missing on the SACD. The 2CD sets usually have 90 minutes of music.

These were originall released on the French Trema label, a label which issued recordings made by the Europe 1 radio station. The Clarke-Boland music dates from October 1969.

These albums have been reissued on various labels. They all have the same music. Some labels issue these as double CDs, others as single CDs. The music is great.

I remember the Boland/Clarke set to be very good. The sound is also state of the art for radio production standards, although it is mono.

I guess you already have the new Clarke/Boland MPS reissues? "Fellini 712" especially is not to be missed.

ups....the Fellini712 is missing... , needed to make a decision when selecting an amount of discs that my wife already classified as "TOO MUCH :bwallace: "

tjobbe, these reissues are pretty chaotic! First came the jewel case boxes (the Trema ones), then the digipacks (I think some of them are still around on Amazon France, do a search for "Olympia", "Salle Pleyel" and the other locations where they were recorded), then came the cheapo Laserlight editions.

I have that CBBB 2CD set, and it's great!

Can anyone tell me: need I replace my Miles Trema 4CD set with the two Laserlight sets containing the same music? Are they different as far as remasterings are concerned, or has each edition just used the same masters again?

Another good one is the 2CD set by the Gerry Mulligan CJB (it was discussed some time ago).

And before you get the "Fellin 712" check if you don't happen to have the mid nineties MPS disc "Three Latin Adventures", as the Fellini album is included there. (In good enough sound, for my ears)
