bertrand Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 I am thanked in the 2nd edition of the Blue Note discography (I sent Michael a few comments), and in a couple of PhD and Masters' thesis' (on jazz, of course) by a few students that I gave some info to (mostly copyright info). jazzman4133 Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 (edited) I wrote a couple of paragraphs for the liner notes for the Chris Powell release on Classics. In case you don't know, the trumpet player with one of the early Chris Powell groups was Clifford Brown. This was a Philadelphia based group. Edited June 29, 2004 by jazzman4133 Quote
ghost of miles Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 I think I wrote the liner notes for George Russell's "Stratusphunk." Also for a couple of Joe McPhee albums. My Riverside LP of George Russell's 'Stratusphunk' has indeed liner notes by Chris Albertson I just got David Young and David Baker to both autography my CD of it... didn't realize that Chris wrote the liner notes, as I haven't read them in a long time! Just makes it that much cooler. I'm about to start writing liner notes for a 2-CD anthology of Indiana jazz that I'm putting together, and I'm a bit nervous about it... so Organissimo is a good place for me to hang out, surrounded by all these talented vets. ghost of miles Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 I'm noted in the thank yous in Ohm: Early Gurus of Electronic Music Because I knew one of the people who put it together and I was one of many who suggested the title. I've wanted to pick this one up for a long time... I'll look for your name when I do. Quote
