kh1958 Posted December 16, 2005 Report Posted December 16, 2005 Unless you live in the state where Dusty Groove is located, there should be no sales tax imposed. They've never charged me one for shipping to Texas. That's thanks to the Supreme Court's decision in National Bellas Hess, which ruled that simply making an out-of-state order was not sufficient contacts with a state for the imposition of sales taxes. spinlps Posted December 16, 2005 Report Posted December 16, 2005 Guilty as charged. 15 minutes from downtown STL but on in the IL side of the river... Chuck Nessa Posted December 16, 2005 Report Posted December 16, 2005 Can't you ship to a friend across the river? Visit a city and save 9%. Guess you'd have to use their billing address too. Quote
GregK Posted December 17, 2005 Report Posted December 17, 2005 I just ordered the Anthony Braxton This Time. Christmas will come early for me Quote
spinlps Posted December 17, 2005 Report Posted December 17, 2005 I actually work in Missouri. I guess I could put it on the corp AMEX so the bill and ship to's are MO addresses. Don't really like to put personal items on that account though. 9% is high, but I figure I have to pay it when I shop in store anyway. At least the $$$ are staying in state... Bright Moments Posted October 11, 2009 Report Posted October 11, 2009 anything special being offered at dusty? i've got a $40.00 gift certificate!!! recommendations please! Quote
Dave James Posted October 11, 2009 Report Posted October 11, 2009 I'm pleased to report that I have not bought a CD from da bastids for almost seven months. In that entire time, the only physical product I've purchased is the Amos Milburn Mosaic and the Beatles Mono Box. "Geez, Lonesome Dave, how did you do it?" Simple. I removed Dusty Groove from my bookmarked websites. Out of sight, out of mind. That, in combination with some serious storage issues, has scratched me from the list of those whose lives are governed by the daily new release listing at Dusty. It's a wonderful day in the neighborhood. Up over and out. Quote
