I believe there is more Left Bank Lee, but it will never see the day.

For whatever reason, no one seemed to bother to tape Lee or many other Jazz musicians except Miles or Trane back then, even into the 70's....partly because it wasn't easy sneaking a reel to reel, no matter how small into a club.

When cassette players came, different thing.

Lee played the former Fillmore East, as part of George Wein's Fest...I remember Lee on bill with Coleman Hawkins, one of his last gigs, Burton,...Lee had Frank Mitchell, Lord Walton, Reggie The Workingman and Our Man Higgins. Woulda thought somebody might have taped it from audience, since it was a large movie theater type hall.

But no.

'We Remember You' has a 1962 Birdland broadcast (thanks to Boris Rose) of Lee Morgan with Jimmy Heath, Barry Harris, Spanky deBrest, Tootie Heath and a 1972 date with Lee's quintet (Billy Harper, Harold Mabern, Jymie Merritt and Freddie Waits).

49 minutes of happiness!

The 1972 stuff is a dub of Lee's appearance on the Al Haizlip-hosted show 'Soul!'. Horace Silver and Andy Bey were on it too.
