Dan Gould Posted June 23, 2004 Report Posted June 23, 2004 Inspired by the health thread and the revelations contained therein, here's another nosy subject, complete with poll (hope I covered enough possibilities there). I'm kind of curious because right before I was married, a friend told me about the inevitable decline of physical contact, which he encapsulated this way: For the first year of your marriage, put a penny in a jar everytime you have sex. Thereafter, take a penny out of the jar each time you have sex. You'll never run out of pennies to remove from the first jar. I laughed at him, and when I told Sue, she laughed as well, but I have to say that the process of emptying the jar has taken far longer than we expected, and we haven't even had kids yet! So, gettin some? Gettin' any? And whatever your status, are you happy about it? Quote
JSngry Posted June 23, 2004 Report Posted June 23, 2004 Are you on drugs? WHOOPS!!! Wrong thread!!!!!!! Quote
Guest Chaney Posted June 23, 2004 Report Posted June 23, 2004 I'm in Commited, Loveless Relationship with myself. Sex is good, though. Quote
jazzbo Posted June 23, 2004 Report Posted June 23, 2004 I've emptied the jar, but it took some time. . . . Quote
Man with the Golden Arm Posted June 23, 2004 Report Posted June 23, 2004 Oh my bad. It was "pennies" you were suppose to put in that jar. No wonder the recycling guys never take it. Quote

RDK Posted June 23, 2004 Report Posted June 23, 2004 Interesting spread of votes. But Dan, you forgot one poll choice: "Are you kidding? We're trying to raise kids here!" Quote
7/4 Posted June 23, 2004 Report Posted June 23, 2004 Celibate by circumstance is leading the pack. Quote
connoisseur series500 Posted June 23, 2004 Report Posted June 23, 2004 I thought it was marbles that went in the jar. Oh well... None of the choices really fit my situation. The jar is empty and has been for some time. But of course we've slowed down. Who doesn't?? Hey Dan: you getting nosy in your old age, huh? -_- Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted June 23, 2004 Report Posted June 23, 2004 I think this poll is insulting. Please, this has nothing to do with my earlier battle with Dan. We are asked, what might be, the most personal questions about our life. Sorry, the very life of the poll repulses me. Does this have anything to do with "music" or "jazz"? Anyone with the "balls" can email me for my personal sexual experiences, current or earlier. I will decide if I want to share the information. So I say "Stick it where the sun don't shine"! On second thought, maybe Dan is looking for a chance to posl his "conquests". I think this is almost as stupid as posting your collection online! Quote

This poll is far less insulting than all the Reagan bashing 2 weeks ago, with all the disrespect people like Johnny E were showing a dead man!! If it is insulting to you then why are you bothering to read it or even post in it? Like they say, if it you don't like it then skip it!! I find it amusing, personally. Quote
Dan Gould Posted June 24, 2004 Author Report Posted June 24, 2004 I'd say sorry I've offended you but I've ceased giving a shit about the likes of you. But you might note that no one's name is attached to the poll results. No one knows who placed themselves in what category, or if they did. That's the beauty of polls, both the legitimate and the online type. Quote

Guest Chaney Posted June 24, 2004 Report Posted June 24, 2004 (edited) C'mon guys. Cut the crap. Since when do we criticize another persons choice in starting a thread? (I don't enter the Political Forum so maybe I'm forum naive.) Highly personal question? Well duh! I really don't think Dan expected anyone to go all Oprah. Edited June 24, 2004 by Chaney Quote

Don't know if I would go so far as to say this poll is "insulting," but Chuck does have a point here. This is awfully personal stuff. I'm not ashamed to post responses to these kinds of questions, but it might be a little forward and uncouth to ask about these things (unless it's tongue-in-cheek, of course. ) I took the high road by posting a few terse responses... ...didn't exactly go into great detail... Guest Chaney Posted June 24, 2004 Report Posted June 24, 2004 (edited) Conn: Responding within this or any other thread is optional. No one is forced to answer questions. ON THE EDIT: That being said, I believe it was on this board that I pounded on a poster who chose to begin a thread and post a link to a site that featured grisly pictures of auto / motorcycle accidents. Maybe I shouldn't be too quick to object to others who object. Edited June 24, 2004 by Chaney Quote
