rockefeller center Posted July 3, 2004 Author Report Posted July 3, 2004 Darmstadt is THE cycling Mecca; I'm sure mikeweil will confirm this. Hello, mikeweil? Quote
neveronfriday Posted July 3, 2004 Report Posted July 3, 2004 My German is hopeless so I'd just be the one grinning and nodding (providing I've got a beer in my hand). I would think English will be the language of choice. And anyone can order a beer by pointing and grunting. That's how we Germans do it. Cheers! [Any wine drinkers coming? Or am I going to be the only one? [alternative: gin tonic etc.]] P.S.: The whole thing will be on a weekend, won't it? I think I can make it on practically any weekend from late Friday afternoon until Sunday, later evening. Quote
couw Posted July 3, 2004 Report Posted July 3, 2004 7 to 8 hours by train from where I live. Anyone ever been there? we need to book a youth hostel or something, and have a place with plenty drink and good athmosphere. I have passed the youth hostel age limit several decades ago. Is there a cool place for the elderlies in Darmstadt couw is just being considerate of the people with limited funds, like himself... -_- Quote

Hope you aren't obliged to do a "friendly chore" in German youth hostels. Quote
David Ayers Posted July 3, 2004 Report Posted July 3, 2004 If we're talking BIKE then I am IN. By the way I am taking the bike to San Diego in August - any bikers in the area? Quote

I'm an elderly Frenchman. Wine - red or white - is beverage of choice. But I have no restrictions regarding other alcohols! When I was of youth hostel age, alcohol was sort of verboten in those type of places. But this may have changed Weekend would be fine. Quote
