Turkey strangling

Looks like a Dodo bird.

turkey strangling is what a friend of mine calls it when a player strangles his horn with his fingers moving up and down the keys like thunder, producing a sound like that of a turkey being strangled. Dolphy is the master.

On http://wkcr.org/, there's a birthday broadcast until 7pm edst showcasing standards. And another show on June 27th on KCR from 2-7 pm.

Now I find out the next show is in on June 29th, 6-9pm, the anniversary of his death in Berlin.

Born in Los Angeles on June 20, 1928, Eric Dolphy, had he not passed away in 1964, would be 76 today.

Happy Birthday Eric!

Listening to Mingus's Town Hall Concert as we speak. So long Eric... :(:(:(
