Stefan Wood
I have been looking for software that would enable me to reduce the noise on lps. I've seen Jam by Roxio, but I was wondering if there were other pieces of software that could do it as well (and cheaper).
Jim Dye
http://www.deepseasoftware.com/apps/cdsd2/ CD Spin Doctor comes with Toast Titanium 6 as part of the package. I haven't used it, but it looks like it might do the job. -Jim P.S. Did you ever get my package?
Stefan Wood
I'll check that out. Thanks, Jim. Yes, I did get your package. Thanks again!
Christiern
I use Toast Titanium 6 and I have received good results using the Spin Doctor application.
Brandon Burke
Be careful with that stuff. Noise reduction often takes out parts of the signal that you'd just as soon keep. I haven't used the Jam NR application but I do have it both at the lab and at home. At the lab we use Waves Restoration but it ain't cheap. The de-clicker is pretty nice and allows you to not only hear the corrected signal you're producing but also isolate the sounds you're taking out. In other words, you can listen to only the clicks and pops being removed (and check for signals you don't want removed in the process). Stefan Wood
Yes, that is something that I am concerned about if I do use it. I mean, I am just doing my own lp to cd transfers, but in a couple of cases it would be nice to remove those marks. I'm more sensitive to it with classical than with jazz.
