Green Dolphin Posted June 4, 2004 Report Posted June 4, 2004 Just wondering if I should add this to the "to get" list.Thought last year's live trio set was a treat, and the addition of Malaby to the line-up is enticing.Do the "2" play on all cuts? Quote
Clunky Posted June 4, 2004 Report Posted June 4, 2004 I'm interested in this one too. Likewise I enjoyed the Hersh's Village Vanguard trio set last year and also admire Malaby's own work. Quote
Green Dolphin Posted June 4, 2004 Author Report Posted June 4, 2004 Thanks J.A.W.,it's on the list! Quote
sal Posted June 4, 2004 Report Posted June 4, 2004 I have it and I love it. One of my favorite releases this year so far. But then again, I'm a Fred Hersch junkie....just about everything he does is gold in my book. The +2 play on nearly every track. I think there are one or two trio pieces, and a duet with Hersch and Malaby. The music is exciting and fresh. I'm sure you'll enjoy it! Quote
jlhoots Posted June 4, 2004 Report Posted June 4, 2004 It's on my list too. Plan to get it next week. Quote
Sahara Blue Orchestra Posted June 7, 2004 Report Posted June 7, 2004 The music is exciting and fresh. well stated. Quote
robviti Posted July 10, 2004 Report Posted July 10, 2004 i just got this disc today, and me likey! i've enjoyed a number of hersch's trio recordings in the past. the addition of the two horns opens things up quite a bit. it feels like i'm getting a chance to hear more of hersch's creative vision, and what i hear is, well yeah, exciting and fresh! i strongly recommend this disc to others. heck, i think it should be considered for album-of-the-week.
