JSngry Posted June 4, 2004 Author Report Posted June 4, 2004 TWO Johnny Rivers? That cat continues to enigmafy! Quote
Harold_Z Posted June 4, 2004 Report Posted June 4, 2004 I think Danelectro guitars were "ghosted" thru Sears. Not sure about the bodies, but they definitely used the "lipstick tube" pickups. From what I can gather, those old Silvertone guitars have a cult following among guitarists. Yeah...they were Danelectros, and I remember reading that Dan Armstrong (Danelectro) designed them.. The formica body, the pickups, etc. the only real visible difference was the headstock. the Danelectros had a "traditional" 3 tuning keys on each side, whil the Silvertone headstock was set up like a Fender, with all 6 tuning keys on one side. Great deal for the money. The guitar case came with a built in Amp. Quote
Harold_Z Posted June 4, 2004 Report Posted June 4, 2004 BTW, the formica body Danelectro was great for eating on the gig. Quote
ejp626 Posted August 23, 2004 Report Posted August 23, 2004 I actually spotted one of the Jimmy Smith on Sears here in Chicago. I didn't pick it up, since I already have the material. But what are the odds? Quote
JSngry Posted August 24, 2004 Author Report Posted August 24, 2004 How much was it? If it was under a fin, I'd have to have it just to satisfy the geek jones. Quote

The seams of the cover were split. Not sure if it is really worth shipping something like that, but I can let you (or anyone else) know the next time I am at that store. Quote
