GloriousBlues Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 I'm gonna fire up my smoker and throw in some spare ribs, salmon, and halibut. I'm also gonna try the jalapeno-pecan-sweet potato recipe that was posted on this board a few months ago. And I will drink beer. Quote
ralphie_boy Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 We're gonna take in a big flea market upstate. I'll have my head buried in piles of vinyl looking for a find. So I did pretty good with the vinyl hunt: Wes Montgomery - Movin' Along Riverside Green Label VG+ - $3 DeJohnette Complex - Mint Gatefold on Milestone - $3 Cal Tjader - Live and Direct - Fantasy Red Vinly - VG $1 Yusef Lateef - Autophysiopsychic - VG+ $1 Quote
Dan Gould Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 Terrible news, fellow US citizens of the board. I just turned the calendar in the office and it dawned on me: The Fourth of July falls on a Sunday, so no workday holiday! Hopefully I can prevail on the boss to make the friday before optional or maybe a half day. Quote
Stefan Wood Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 Dan, if it falls on a Sunday, then Monday is a day off. Banks, post offices, etc. will be closed. And most businesses too, unless it is run by a guy with a hooded mask. I spent my weekend recovering from a cold, and I bought a ton of really cool classical lps for a buck a pop. 50's RCA, columbia, etc. Some really nice performances of American classical music. And some jazz as well -- Buddy De Franco, George Auld on Mercury, etc. Quote
