Ron S Posted October 30, 2006 Report Posted October 30, 2006 Sonny Stitt Roulette. This is an extremely rare set. In fact, Lon has the only existing copy. Quote
The Magnificent Goldberg Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 Sonny Stitt Roulette. This is an extremely rare set. In fact, Lon has the only existing copy. Indeed - MC will never stop regretting that he let even one copy of a record of Stitt playing electrified sax (and particularly a hit album) out of the building. MG Quote

sal Posted November 3, 2006 Report Posted November 3, 2006 I was spinning disc 3 of the Dizzy Reece Select last night, and was wondering why he doesn't get more acclaim than he does. He has one of the most beautiful, big and brassy tones I've ever heard, and is a fantastic improvisor on top of that. Also, his compositions are really interesting. LOVE that tune "Sands". Quote
