Stompin at the Savoy Posted August 21 Report Posted August 21 I've been listening to a lot of Sidney Bechet recently. Great stuff! Quote
Stompin at the Savoy Posted August 24 Report Posted August 24 I wasn't sure if I really liked Artie Shaw. A while back I gave his Centennial Selection disk a good listen and decided yes, this is good big-band stuff and quite a bit of it does swing pretty nicely. And I've gotten into big band a lot in recent years. So recently found a copy of the Mosaic and have been checking it out. Quote
jazzbo Posted August 24 Report Posted August 24 There are two 2 cd sets called "Last Sessions" that have all star small ensemble recordings by Shaw that are wonderful. Quote
