Picked this up recently, and it reaffirmed my love of the Mosaic label sets. Even though it's strictly piano solos and trios, it's got a great variety that I can listen to for hours. I also just picked up a grail item - the Maynard Ferguson Orchestra!! - that I'm currently ripping to my NAS and then I'll take the dive into that. It's gonna be a good day.

Revisiting the first Mosaic set I ever bought, as I do every several years. I ordered it not long after it came out in 1995, and to hear this music again 25+ years later is to think that a whole lotta jazz pianists who have emerged since its release have listened to the records therein as well:

I really enjoy the feel and approach of the whole set, as well as the standout sides. Though when I was playing Disk 1 I was told that it sounds like “nightmare music” so maybe it’s not for everyone...
