Woody Herman Orchestra Columbia recordings. "Ah your fathers mustache".......the alternates are fun to listen to since I can imagine, in concert, repeating this tune with "and one more time!" High school and college jazz bands should have an arrangement of this.

I went along with my wife to do a few errands yesterday afternoon. While she went into Target I decided to go into a store that has mostly used DVDs but has a small section of CDs. Usually I never find anything of interest to me. In one of their glass cabinets was The complete Verve Johnny Hodges small group sessions Mosaic for $49.99! Used but very good condition. Anyway I'm listening to disc 1 now. It's wonderful. You just never know.....

Compared to most everyone here I have been a late bloomer with what I've listened to for the first time (buying and listening to the great series of Nessa recordings for the first time starting just two years ago for example). So, also for the first time, I am really enjoying the Mosaic Small Group Johnny Hodges 1956 - 61. Disc 3 right now.
