jazzbo Posted May 6, 2005 Report Posted May 6, 2005 Alright, I have the cd of the Hodes and I LOVE it. I'm sure you're going to have a lot of fun listening and transferring (IF you like transferring, I do most of the time though sometimes it can be frustrating!) Quote
gslade Posted May 6, 2005 Report Posted May 6, 2005 Transferring is a lot of work the program I am using is an older version of CD spin doctor that crashes I need to upgrade the software but I spend too much money on music instead cant wait to hear the music Quote
tranemonk Posted May 6, 2005 Report Posted May 6, 2005 Columbia Swing Sessions Disc 7... Yup you were right Ron S.... Herbie Ellis IS swinging...! Disc 6 (Kenny Burrell) also helped turned it around for me.... Overall... but THANK YOU to Herbie and Kenny... (A little Coleman Hawkins didn't hurt either... ) Quote
Ron S Posted May 6, 2005 Report Posted May 6, 2005 Yup you were right Ron S.... Herbie Ellis IS swinging...! Disc 6 (Kenny Burrell) also helped turned it around for me.... Sounds like you're a guitar man. B-) Quote
tranemonk Posted May 7, 2005 Report Posted May 7, 2005 Yup you were right Ron S.... Herbie Ellis IS swinging...! Disc 6 (Kenny Burrell) also helped turned it around for me.... Sounds like you're a guitar man. B-) A little bit.... But I gotta tell you... Disc 8 may have been the best.... I kinda always feel like I can trust Ben Webster... (Kinda like my musical teddy bear...All else fails just put on a Ben Webster record.... Ah.... B-) Well... on the whole, the Columbia Sessions did not thrill me... By far the best were Discs 6-8.... But perhaps as with our wise Ron... I will give it a second spin and hear something new... But for now... onto the new Jarrett Double CD... Radiance ! Quote
