columbia swing sessions - Disc 4... A tiny bit of swinging.... although I have to disagree with many of my honorable colleagues aboout the Ada Moore/Jimmy Rushing set.... Completely did not work for me... Seemed very forced and I did not get any sense of genuine chemistry between Rushing & Moore... Both seemed unenthusiatic at best...

let's hope Kenny Burrell & Illinois Jacquet can save this set for me....

I'm just surprised that nobody else other than Hank and Ed Swinnich has posted that he/she is listening to this. Someone at Mosaic told me that they had NINE HUNDRED preorders for this set.

Yeah, well I have this set on Japanese cds, etc. and haven't sprung for it. Perhaps quite a few people snapped up some of the recent Japanese reissues and now are kicking themselves hard (not that I am )!

Maybe those preorders are actually from another source! (Whereas with the Andrew Hill set I wouldn't be surprised if a third of the preorders were from THIS BOARD!)

Now Discs 5 and 6 of the Basie Clef/Verve Studio set (sorry, Lon )--the Joe Williams sessions. At some point before I get rid of the original Verve CD issues of these sessions, I'll have to compare the sound to this new Addey mastering.
