Mosaic Artie Shaw Disk 6, finally starting to really appreciate this music! Bought this set probably a year ago, and after repeated listens it's becoming enjoyable. I think Shaw had a totally different musical outlook that his peers.

Miles Davis - The Complete On the Corner Sessions

into disc 2 now... trying to figure out the how the boots (three volumes of "unknown sessions" and some more) fit in... anyone ever tried to figure out? Losin isn't that complete here... and the box gives little info, too.

the complete blue note hank mobley fifties sessions. very fine material, indeed. i would prefer to have every album with its cover but, when i bought it, i found it to be very convenient to have all the elusive fifties albums under one roof and with excellent sound without having to wait for them. plus the excellent mosaic booklet.

What a woman! And one HELL of a Mosaic set. Such variety, great sound, and of course Anita O'Day swingin' and doin' her thing.

Disc 9 is somewhat lame by comparison though...

Nnow disc 6 and maybe I'll add discs 7 and 8, too!

The Complete Verve Tal Farlow Sessions - the session with Oscar Pettiford on cello. I woke up this morning wanting to hear this Tal Farlow session and wanting to read John Donne. I told my wife that, and she said I was weird. But I did both today.

Onzy Matthews Select Disk 1. It came up on my iPhone as I was listening to the iPod in shuffle mode, and decided to listen to the whole album! Cool arrangements and an AMAZING list of West Coast players. Great sound quality too. :tup
