jeffcrom Posted August 25, 2011 Report Posted August 25, 2011 Duke Ellington - Complete Capitol Recordings, disc 4. Not the Ellington set I would take to a desert island, but there is some nice stuff here. I think I'll skip "Bunny Hop Mambo" this time around, though. Quote

king ubu Posted September 7, 2011 Report Posted September 7, 2011 Stanley Turrentine - The Blue Note Stanley Turrentine Quartet/Sextet Sessions - disc 1 - "Comin' Your Way" With Tommy Turrentine, Horace Parlan, George Tucker, Al Harewood Have finally ordered that one from the recent sale (with the Hamp, Bird and the new Tolliver Select!) - looking forward a lot. The only album included that I know happens to be "Comin' Your Way", of which I got the LP some ten years ago. Very nice! Too bad though it's separated from the two albums by the same band that were done under Horace Parlan's leadership (and included in his Mosaic). Quote

Sneeked that one in before the devaluation of the Swiss zlotty then ! Maybe some of us can now go skiing next year.. Quote
