king ubu Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 Well, the amount of people who really care about these things is so few . . .statistically speaking in the market place. Thank goodness for Cuscuna, the Uptown folks and a few others who care and do it right. . .the few. . . the proud. Quote
GA Russell Posted April 12, 2008 Report Posted April 12, 2008 Herbie Nichols, disc 1 I'm not Nichols' biggest fan, but the music here is so different from anything else I own that I enjoy it from time to time. Quote
John Tapscott Posted April 13, 2008 Report Posted April 13, 2008 Thad Jones - Mel Lewis - fabulous stuff - probably my favorite Mosaic set. The sound quailty is amazing. Quote

Is this the material that came out on the RCA 'Very Alive At Ronnie Scotts' 2LP set? Sound quality is good, though you can tell the band is playing in a confined space. Material originally issued on Rich in London (RCA LSP-4666) and Very Alive at Ronnie Scott's (English RCA DPS-2031. Quote
sidewinder Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 Thanks ! I'll dig my 2LP set out of this one. Quote
captainwrong Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 (edited) Duke Pearson Select...two discs of nice Bossa influenced stuff...then disc three comes along. The Xmas stuff, I'm sure I'll dig later, but the easy listening vocal session was more than I could take. However, the first two discs received the rare and coveted wife approval award, so that means something, right? Edited April 18, 2008 by Captain Wrong Quote
