All 3 would be good but I like the sound of the Herman Select with Basie/Young combo.

Oliver Nelson CDs 1 and 2. The music is sleek and more polished than I'm used to, but I love the music nonetheless

I've listened through the Shaw twice, and I've had a lot of that material on lp and cd. . . and I enjoy it but I'm not really crazy about it right now. The Young and Basie. . . wow, love this music, have for a few decades.

I like both the Hermans. I don't enjoy either more or feel either is more essential to my collection as the Young. But you won't do wrong getting one of the Hermans.

I second those who say the WH Select and Young/Basie. (I presume you are choosing from one of the three and not the Herman Columbia and Shaw

together).

Nothing against the others (I don't have the Shaw), but what a great variety of great swinging music these 7 discs would give you.
