7/4 Posted May 23, 2004 Report Posted May 23, 2004 CD Universe has a Hee Haw Collection. Are there more? Quote
Jazzmoose Posted May 23, 2004 Report Posted May 23, 2004 Well, if they'd just boil it down to the music (or even Buck and Roy, for that matter) I'd go for it, but I don't need the corn... Quote

Upright Bill Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 When I was little and my parents when out my brothers and I would have to stay with my grandparents. If it was my Dad's parents we had to watch Lawrence Welk and if it was my Mom's we'd have to watch Hee Haw. Back then I hated both of them (Hee Haw and Lawrence Welk not my grandparents). Now I watch Lawrence Welk reruns all the time, I wonder what changed... Quote
Tjazz Posted May 24, 2004 Author Report Posted May 24, 2004 Yeah, I hated country music when I was young. (guess that means I'm OLD?) Quote
Upright Bill Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 Yeah, I hated country music when I was young. (guess that means I'm OLD?) I still don't watch Hee Haw reruns. Quote
John L Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 ...as did Roy Clark. (at least on those occasions when he let his fingers do the talking.) Quote
Jazzmoose Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 I never watched any of that silly shit. Hey Grandpa, what's for supper? Quote
Big Al Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 "Laugh-In" for rednecks. Not that it didn't have its funny moments. I remember enjoying it when I was a kid; haven't seen it in years, though. Quote
JSngry Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 I was really pissed when the cancelled the Smothers Brothers show and put this in its place. But I got over it about 20 minutes into the first episode. It stayed on the air WAY too long, and stopped being really funny after a year or two, but those first few seasons were a riot. Quote
Shawn Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 I searched the world over and thought I found true love...you met another and..ptthhhh you were gone! Gloom, despair and agony on me.... Quote
Dave James Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 I rarely watched Hee Haw, but I can tell you that Roy Clark in his prime was about as good a picker as you'll ever see. Upright Bill - I'm with you on the Lawrence Welk reruns. They're on here in Portland at 6:00 on Saturday nights. If I'm around, I tune in. Not unlike Hee Haw, you have to be willing to tolerate the chaff (and there's plenty of that) to get to the wheat. But, if you're like me, you know that when Larry decided to put down the hammer, that band of his could flat out swing. Up over and out. Quote
