Chrome Posted May 18, 2004 Report Posted May 18, 2004 Anyone familiar with the organist Ronnie Foster or know what he's up to? I'm spinning my disc of "Two-headed Freep" and was curious... Quote
Pete C Posted May 18, 2004 Report Posted May 18, 2004 "Throughout the '80's, Foster continued to play on a wide variety of sessions and eventually moved into production. Among the musicians he worked with in the '80s were Jimmy Smith, Klugh, Flack, Harvey Mason, Stanley Turrentine, David Sanborn, Djavan and Grover Washington Jr. Foster continued the same path in the '90's, playing with many of the same musicians, as well as Lee Ritenour, Roland Vazquez and The Temptations, among others. His own records were rediscovered by a new generation of listeners in the '90's, as well, with several of his records used as source material for sample-heavy acid-jazz and hip-hop records." http://www.soulwalking.co.uk/Ronnie%20Foster.html Quote
Ragu Posted May 19, 2004 Report Posted May 19, 2004 Last I heard, he was musical director for Clint Holmes, who is a Las Vegas star and works there year round. Quote
BeBop Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 Anyone heard Foster recently? I'm flying thru Vegas tomorrow night and he's playing. (He plays Thursday and Saturday nights at the Artisan Hotel.) Quote
