Guest Chaney Posted May 18, 2004 Report Posted May 18, 2004 Hmmm.... Took you five posts and nearly a month before getting around to business? Slacker! B) Q: What's "authentic jazz"? Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted May 18, 2004 Report Posted May 18, 2004 This turns out to be the Jazz Heritage Society. I am currently a member, considering quitting because they have the most irritating web site in the music biz. They make it very difficult to find what you want and sometimes items in their mailings are not on the site. I have sent emails to their customer service dept but have never received a response. Hardbopjazz Posted May 18, 2004 Report Posted May 18, 2004 I never tried spam. Looks too much like dog food. Quote
Hardbopjazz Posted May 18, 2004 Report Posted May 18, 2004 (edited) I wonder how many users signed up at this fourm just to spam? Edited May 18, 2004 by Hardbopjazz Quote

Jim Alfredson Posted May 18, 2004 Report Posted May 18, 2004 I don't mind "spam" here (I don't think this qualifies, since it is jazz related) as long as the posteres show respect and don't fill up the entire board with it (ie, the saxman episode). The jazz world is tough enough as is. If this website can help fellow musicians, business men, labels, etc that are in the jazz community, then I have no problem with it. Quote

Obviously he was waiting for the polls to close. BEST SITE? Good eye. I hesitated responding in the way I did but felt it warranted as our (otherwise welcome ) new member seemed to have planned for this - judging by his prior posts. I do agree fully with Jim and have decided not to ban TheJazzMan from my board. (Shouldn't I have a badge? Is there a budget for maybe a hat, holster and badge? If not, I'll settle for the badge alone. What about a horse?) Quote
TheJazzMan Posted May 19, 2004 Author Report Posted May 19, 2004 btw, authentic= not the pop garbage (sorry Kenny G) Quote
Jazzmoose Posted May 20, 2004 Report Posted May 20, 2004 Yeah, for some newbie to come in here and start dumping on the great Kenny G....okay, Simply Said wasn't so hot, but Persuance was a great disc! And what about Songbook?? Quote
Jazzmoose Posted May 20, 2004 Report Posted May 20, 2004 Sorry, Bruce; I tried to play along, but that's the best I could do... Quote
