SGUD missile Posted May 17, 2004 Report Posted May 17, 2004 I'm sure some of y'all have gotten the spam below by now, but here it is again ..remember it this WEDNESDAY .. its like chicken soup ..it cant hurt .. MAY 19 ...NO GAS DAY! IT HAS BEEN CALCULATED THAT IF EVERYONE IN THE UNITED STATES DID NOT PURCHASE A DROP OF GASOLINE FOR ONE DAY AND ALL AT THE SAME TIME, THE OIL COMPANIES WOULD CHOKE ON THEIR STOCKPILES. AT THE SAME TIME IT WOULD HIT THE ENTIRE INDUSTRY WITH A NET LOSS OF OVER 4.6 BILLION DOLLARS WHICH AFFECTS THE BOTTOM LINES OF THE OIL COMPANIES. THEREFORE MAY 19TH HAS BEEN FORMALLY DECLARED "STICK IT TO THEM" DAY AND THE PEOPLE OF THIS NATION SHOULD NOT BUY A SINGLE DROP OF GASOLINE THAT DAY. THE ONLY WAY THIS CAN BE DONE IS IF YOU FORWARD THIS E-MAIL TO AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN AND AS QUICKLY AS YOU CAN TO GET THE WORD OUT. WAITING ON THIS ADMINISTRATION TO STEP IN AND CONTROL THE PRICES IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE REDUCTION AND CONTROL IN PRICES THAT THE ARAB NATIONS PROMISED TWO WEEKS AGO? REMEMBER ONE THING, NOT ONLY IS THE PRICE OF GASOLINE GOING UP BUT AT THE SAME TIME AIRLINES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES, TRUCKING COMPANIES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES WHICH EFFECTS PRICES ON EVERYTHING THAT IS SHIPPED. THINGS LIKE FOOD, CLOTHING, BUILDING MATERIALS, MEDICAL SUPPLIES ETC. WHO PAYS IN THE END? WE DO! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. IF THEY DON'T GET THE MESSAGE AFTER ONE DAY, WE WILL DO IT AGAIN AND AGAIN. SO DO YOUR PART AND SPREAD THE WORD. FORWARD THIS EMAIL TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW. MARK YOUR CALENDARS AND MAKE MAY 19TH A DAY THAT THE CITIZENS OF THE UNITED STATES SAY w "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH" ..amd pass it on !!!

RainyDay Posted May 17, 2004 Report Posted May 17, 2004 This somebody who fell asleep half way through the class on civil disobedience. They got the boycott part right, then the pizza at lunch kicked in.
connoisseur series500 Posted May 17, 2004 Report Posted May 17, 2004 AT THE SAME TIME IT WOULD HIT THE ENTIRE INDUSTRY WITH A NET LOSS OF OVER 4.6 BILLION DOLLARS WHICH AFFECTS THE BOTTOM LINES OF THE OIL COMPANIES. I guess I don't understand this type of thinking. Let's all go and hurt the oil companies so that they will then go and stick us some more in order to make up for losses caused by our very temporary boycott. This is the same anarchist mentality that wishes to destroy something just because things aren't going our way for whatever reason. I'm sure there's more to blame than just the oil companies. Just because we may sympathize in some visceral way and wish to strike out in some random fashion doesn't mean that it does anyone any good to do so. Let's be rational, please...
PHILLYQ Posted May 17, 2004 Report Posted May 17, 2004 If nobody buys gas for one day, how do the oil companies lose billions? Do these non-buyers then forswear gas forever? If not, then they'll have to buy gas at some point.
Use3D Posted May 17, 2004 Report Posted May 17, 2004 No spam please. This crap was in my mail and I don't need it here.
