DIS Posted May 17, 2004 Report Posted May 17, 2004 (edited) Can someone please help me identify who sings on the Billy May arrangement of "Always"? This arrangement might be on the recording, All of Me. If you have the recording, please check. Otherwise, please don't guess! Edited May 19, 2004 by DIS Quote
P.D. Posted May 17, 2004 Report Posted May 17, 2004 (edited) The only reference I can find is that May recorded this only once, 1952 probably for Capitol. The singers referenced are drummer Alvin Stoller ( never knew he sang!), and a vocal group called the Maytimers.. no reference as to who they were.. so the vocalist could be Stoller or one of the vocal group. Being blind in my left eye, I missed an entry.. there is a female vocalist listed for the session.. Liz Tilton..so if it's a female singing, it's probably her Edited May 17, 2004 by P.D. Quote
DIS Posted May 19, 2004 Author Report Posted May 19, 2004 I don't have this recording, whatever it is. I have the arrangement and would like to know who sang it when recorded. I'm getting conflicting information. Here's what came my way via e-mail: That would be Bobby Darin, on his very first Capitol Lp, "Oh! Look At Me Now." It's one of my all-time favorites, and a great band led by Billy May backing up Darin. May also wrote all of the arrangements as well. Can anyone verify one or the other of these responses? Quote
