Right. I thought I read recently that Mosaic was NOT going to offer Selects to retail outlets after all.

According to the March 2004 Mosaic brochure: "The Mosaic Select series was expected to be available at retail aproximately one year from release date. Unfortunately the current economics of the retail market prevent us from using this avenue of distribution. Therefore at this time Mosaic Selects will only be available from us; though if things change we would certainly love to obtain wider distribution for these deserving artists and their body of work."

Interesting that the label is listed as Koch Entertainment. Am I missing something? Let me rephrase that- am I missing something else? Wondering if the packaging will be identical?

I guess Mosaic changed their mind. Maybe they noticed they have too much inventory.

So I can buy it cheaper $37.50 from CDUniverse, than Mosaic ($39.00).

Koch is a very reputable independent multimedia (CD and DVD) distributor. They carry lots of good labels that do not have affliation with distribution from one of the majors. I've dealt with them over the years, and they run a good company.

Considering that CD Universe's shipping tops out at $7, you may save a bit more than that if you order other items along with the Select.

I ordered from CDUniverse once. It was a good experience for me. However, I do like the shipping speed offered by Mosaic. I tend to receive my Mosaic orders within three days of ordering, even when the package must be delivered from the East Coast to the West Coast. I place my Mosaic order, with Mosaic, on one day and Mosaic ships the next day.

I see them all the time at Dusty Groove (those bastards ) for $49.00. I'm sure they just order them from Mosaic when first released and toss them on the shelf. I'm amazed at how many fans of jazz haven't heard of Mosaic and don't know they can get them cheaper in many cases. But then again, there were 30 Mosaic sets OOP before I knew about them

Has anyone received a Mosaic Select from CD Universe at the bargain price?

The $37.5 price has disappeared and been replaced by $47 ("you save $21" )
