Clunky Posted December 13, 2012 Report Posted December 13, 2012 Al Cohn & Jimmy Rowles 'Heavy Love' (Xanadu) Not got that one but the Al Cohn Xanadu LPs I've heard are uniformly excellent. Currently spinning John Gordon - Step by Step (Strata East)- modal hard bop session, interesting line up including Roland Alexander and Charles Tolliver Quote
clifford_thornton Posted December 13, 2012 Report Posted December 13, 2012 I've passed on that John Gordon a few times - maybe I should grab it next time if it's not stupidly expensive. Quote

It's now part of the Atlanta metroplex, but it was a very different place then, and some of the older folks in the community still sang "Barbara Allen," which Seeger includes here. Quote
