The Magnificent Goldberg
What an interesting band! It doesn't look like Hyde Park, London, though. Is there a Hyde Park in Evanston? Just finished playing Osibisa - Ojah awake - Bronze MG

Well, I only picked Evanston, because that's where Beehive was located MG

clifford_thornton
Radu Malfatti/Stefan Wittwer - Thrumblin' - (FMP) good nasty head cold weather change music
Chuck Nessa
Still have some troubles with Junior as an "authentic" blues player. He is a very nice man.
jeffcrom
Cannonball Adderley - Black Messiah (Capitol); sides one and four. This 1972 live date is all over the place, which amuses me. Fela - Shuffering and Shmiling (Celluloid) Annette Peacock - I'm the One (RCA). A quite remarkable avant-rock album, in my opinion. Paul Bley is on two cuts. jeffcrom
The Paul Bley Synthesizer Show (Milestone). In its way, as dated as those 1920s dance band 78s I love. And I love this just as much.

The Magnificent Goldberg
Still have some troubles with Junior as an "authentic" blues player. He is a very nice man. I love that one. I already had that LP, and some other material of his, but it was when I saw him at the Brecon Jazz Fest in 2000 that what a nice guy he is came across to me. What's an 'authentic' blues player that Mance isn't? MG

I still have a videotape of television coverage of Junior at Brecon, backed by Steve Brown, who must be my favourite British drummer. jeffcrom
Paul Bley & Scorpio (Milestone). If The Paul Bley Synthesizer Show, Bley's previous Milestone album, is something of a period piece, this one is a classic, even if a few of the keyboard sounds fall into the "seemed like a good idea at the time" category. clifford_thornton
I like those Bley/Peacock electronic LPs. The only one I'm still in need of is Revenge.

But I recall watching several BBC TV programmes from the festival. IIRC I also have Brecon sessions on tape by Joe Lovano and Regina Carter.
