jazzbo
The 40th anniversary. Sounds very close to my old Columbia, but so noise-free! Back to this one. My one complaint: a scratch on Spanish Key right out of the wrapper. Darn.

The Magnificent Goldberg
A few misfires, but on the whole, a very strong album, funky and soulful and slickly produced, all in one. If you're an RC fan and don't know this one, you might want to fix that. Yes, there are several tracks from this on the Singular genius box and I've been thinking about getting the album. mjazzg
God, did early digital recordings sound like shit. Not that this is particularly good music, but still... Ouch, never ever expected to see that on this board.....with you on the music (with a few exceptions, stand proud Working Week), and the film for that sake. London in the mid 80s where we all wanted to be in that film.....well for five minutes it seemd so but we were young back then and soon saw the error of our ways. mjazzg
It filled a hole in my Gil Evans collection and it was under $5.00, so... that and it gave me a chance to stroll down memory lane, thank you. What better outcome for that magnificent outlay. Someone, somewhere is probably listening to it all and loving it all and may they do so in peace. Enjoy your Gil-shaped hole filler

JSngry
Last album to have Charles Stepney's contributions. RIP, and DAMN!!! All this and all that about this and that, but some things you just can't get around, and EW&F firing on all cylinders is one of them.
