would that be it's first issue ?

Yes, I think it is. The session is from 1972 I think (issued then, recorded 1971) and the UA labels were 'current' during 1970-73.

Also, a lot of copies of this one seem to have been given the dreaded 'corner clip' treatment on the sleeve but this one survived unscathed.

I'll need to spin the CD later, I was exactly overwhelmed when I last listened to it. The handful of UA BN issues or reissues I've got seem really excellent pressings.

A lot of additional detail on this vinyl that sounds sort of 'mushy' on the CD. Jymie Merritt's bass, for example. Good to hear it all nice and clear ! Lee Morgan sounds a bit further back in the mix though, compared with the CD.

Chuck Wayne Tapestry - (Focus) mono 1964- mostly pretty subdued date in relatively limited fidelity, entirely listenable but it's no headline grabber.

That cover art would make good Indian restaurant wallpaper !

Yeah, if that's 1964, the art director was ahead of his/her time in terms of getting psychedelic.

Ever heard of either of these two (bottom, lower-leftish, very small print)?

very high on my "damn, I wish I could here that record" list and probably fairly high on the "wish it wasn't so expensive to buy" list too

er....I've never heard of it ....

This should help. Enjoy !

Colbeck

Is it still expensive? I feel like I bought mine for around $40, but that was at least 10 years ago.

Barbara Nessim is a respected visual artist, illustrator and professor. I couldn't see who the other person involved with the cover art was. The record looks like it's interesting.
