Jimmy Giuffre Dragonfly Soul Note, I remember thinking that this was complete rubbish when I first played it about 20 yrs ago. I'm not sure I've played it it since but I'm really impressed spinning it now . Not sure how this stacks up compared to the other JG Soul Notes . I like the synth, the whole package. Nice one Jimmy, even if I didn't realise it the time.

I think that was the Giuffre album that I had in the late 70s - a double if I recall - that completely mystified me. I sold it at some point in the 80s.

Would be intriguing to hear again given how much other music I've since listened to. Might make sense now.

Gene Ammons--Twistin' the Jug (Prestige Black and silver N.J. stereo). This looked a bit battered but was only $9 and cleaned up nicely, the result being amazingly vivid sound.

Dragonfly is a single LP . Mosquito Dance is a double from 1975

INTERface, with John Fischer, Mark Whitecage, Phillip Wilson, and Rick Kilburn. Recorded in 1978, I think at Environ, the loft space founded by Fischer. A really fine album.

DJM - That was a strange UK label. I remember when they issued a Stanley Turrentine LP with Laurel & Hardy type cover art. Back in the day their prices were just about the lowest for any jazz LP out there - apart from Embassy, MFP etc.
