Alfred Posted March 29, 2005 Report Posted March 29, 2005 Wave still exists, though Peter Ind now issues CDs rather than LPs. Correct! WAVE But not every record he published is re-released on CD. Therefore you need a turntable. Apologies for sticking a CD response in the Vinyl Thread, but I thought it was important for folks to know about the music. I do believe that music is more important than format. Hope that I'm forgiven on both counts. Welcome. Quote

MartyJazz Posted April 1, 2005 Report Posted April 1, 2005 Having recently received a CD copy of Stanley Cowell's BRILLIANT CIRCLES (Black Lion), I was very disappointed in that the infrequently recorded tenor saxophonist Tyrone Washington sounded like he was playing in a closet a couple of studios away. So I took out my LP copy (Freedom Polydor) and heard it the way it should sound. Quote

Parkertown Posted April 1, 2005 Report Posted April 1, 2005 (edited) Also used, but near mint: Osibisa - WOYAYA - a nice German pressing in beautiful shape. There is quite a bit of surface noise in between songs, but once the music starts it completely disappears! And the sound! Oh man, what sound! Incredible presence, and the tonality is just perfect. It's really wowing me... Have you guys ever discussed these guys before? Cuz they're a new discovery for me... B-) Edited April 1, 2005 by Parkertown Quote
