bought this vinyl a few weeks ago and am just starting to listen:

"Duran" has a killer milesian funk/rock groove goin' on (Cobham!) and McLaughlin is killin' in somewhat of a Hendrix mode. and i've never heard the lead-off track "Song Of Our Country." it's a gil evans tune in orchestral fashion w/ miles like "sketches." will be listening to that later this evening...

That 'Directions' is an interesting listen. I have the UK issue of it (must have bought it around 1978-ish?)

Evangelist Alessie Barney - Searching (Randy's Spiritual) Sister Barney has a steely, intense voice on this album from 1970 or so. It's about the shortest 12" LP I've ever seen - just over 21 minutes.

Claude Thornhill - Dinner for Two (RCA Camden) A "mood music" collection; John Carisi, Brew Moore, Hal McKusick, and Herb Geller are on hand on various sessions, but there's not much jazz. It's what I was in the mood for, though.
