Now I'm listening to the Impulse reissue of Sonny Criss at the Crossroads - the first disc of The Bopmasters. This is one of those albums that makes me want to yell, "That's jazz, baby!"

Freddie Redd; The Connection. Felstead (Japan)

Actually credited to Howard McGhee, obi covered Howard's name.

How is this album?

Very nice but maybe not quite essential. But anything with Tina Brooks is worth having imo,. Label is misspelled, it's Felsted

V. One: Devilette, For All We Know, Sonnymoon for Two, Doxy.

V. Two: Like Someone in Love, Body & Soul, There Will Never Be Another You, Blues Walk.

Oh, so the CD's got two extra tracks from the same session, but two are missing (and "There will never be" as a "bonus" track). I wonder if there are any other tracks issued elsewhere from this gig.

3 Shades of the Blues (Lupine). Late 50s-early 60s Detroit blues/R & B by Eddie Kirkland, Mr. Bo, and The Ohio Untouchables, featuring the greatest guitarist ever to come out of Dry Branch, Georgia: the amazing Robert Ward. Hell, yes!

Good one, Jeff!
