Teasing the Korean Posted March 2, 2009 Report Posted March 2, 2009 Walt Dickerson - Jazz Impressions of Lawrence of Arabia - (Dauntless stereo orig) Is that record as amazing as the title would suggest? Quote
clifford_thornton Posted March 2, 2009 Report Posted March 2, 2009 It's really good. Grimes is miked well, so it seems, as is pianist Austin Crowe. Dickerson kind of skates atop the surge. Now: Makaya Ntshoko - Makaya & The Tsotsis - (Enja) strong date w/ Heinz Sauer, Bob Degen and Isla Eckinger. Quote

kh1958 Posted March 3, 2009 Report Posted March 3, 2009 (edited) Larry Coryell and the Brubeck Brothers--Better Than Live (Direct Disc Labs) The sound reproduction on this Direct to Disc recording is fantastic. On the plus side, Larry Coryell is in top form on this recording and is virtually in the room with you. On the minus side, the keyboard playing Brubeck brother is also in the room with you, doing his poor man's Jan Hammer. Edited March 3, 2009 by kh1958 Quote
