The Magnificent Goldberg Posted November 12, 2008 Report Posted November 12, 2008 Mandigo - The Primeval Rhythm of Life - EMI/Columbia (UK) BADASS contortionist funk exotica! I'd LOVE to see little category cards in a record shop "CONTORTIONIST FUNK EXOTICA A-F" "CONTORTIONIST FUNK EXOTICA G-M" "CONTORTIONIST FUNK EXOTICA N-R" "CONTORTIONIST FUNK EXOTICA S-Z" But only the G-M section would have anything in it MG You forgot "CONTORTIONIST FUNK EXOTICA VARIOUS ARTISTS" Well, stap me, so I did! Teasing the Korean Posted November 14, 2008 Report Posted November 14, 2008 My water damaged Classic mono Soul Station. sigh. If it's not warped, a Nitty Gritty or VPI will take care of that. Granted, you could buy a new copy for less than that, but these machines pay for themselves, believe me. Quote

Granted, you could buy a new copy for less than that, but these machines pay for themselves, believe me. Luckily I already own a Nitty Gritty. I had a bunch of vinyl get flooded earlier in the year and that thing did pay for itself. Unfortunately, there isn't an equivalent machine for the covers. Oh and tonight...Horace Parlan - Speakin' My Peace, which, in spite of mocking a bit in the thread, is a Music Matters 45 set. Ironically, it's going to have to go back as the first disc has these weird scuffs on it that almost look like someone was trying to draw a square on the vinyl. Sad, as it really is a nice sounding album, but here I tried to get over my fears about any problems and right out of the gate I get a dud. I don't know if that means I was right or if I'm being punished for making fun. LOL Edited November 14, 2008 by Captain Wrong Quote

I think I did the same thing, though it was mostly a jazz record that I put on for "other people" over at the house (if you know what I'm sayin')... Quote
