The Magnificent Goldberg
MG, do you have his Caribbean Suite album on RCA? Not yet - I seem to recall I bought one off Dan the other day, but haven't paid for the records yet, so I don't have it written down nice and handy. MG Oh, just looked it up and someone outbid me on it. Shrug. Will get it sometime. MG

kh1958
Gil Evans & the Monday Night Orchestra live at Sweet Basil, Vol 2 (Electric bird twofer) What a band! This one hasn't been mentioned in the current Gil Evans discussion. Anyone else like it? Yes. It was a couple of years after Gil's death, but they continued to perform at Sweet Basil for awhile and I was able to see the group two times there--they still had the spirit and were fantastic. Seeing them must have been a great experience! In the seventies at Manchester's Free Trade Hall I saw the Evans band that recorded Svengali.
