clifford_thornton Posted August 18, 2008 Report Posted August 18, 2008 Ralph Towner with Glen Moore, Solos/Trios (ECM) Rypdal/Vitous/DeJohnette, To Be Continued (ECM) Nice, as great as ECM cd's sound the good vinyl editions have this feel to them, in that you feel the music more than your just listening to it. It really hit me again this weekend listening to: My local HPB got in a group of ECMs in pristine condition, so I've bought a few. To Be Continued sounds amazing. As does the solo Steve Kuhn, Ecstasy. Still need the Bitter Funeral Beer Band. Did they have that one? Quote

It sounds like an interesting group. Quote

ejp626 Posted August 20, 2008 Report Posted August 20, 2008 Was transferring a bunch of 45s and got really caught up with Paul Humphrey's Detroit. It was particularly nice as most of these are pretty trashed, but this one has very little surface noise. Turns out it isn't quite as obscure as I thought, but still a really nice cut. Now contemplating tracking down two of his main LPs, but because these are desired by crate diggers, they won't come cheaply. Oh well. (The Cool Aid Chemists album is also available as a somewhat overpriced import CD, but I'm not quite ready to pay that much... yet.) Quote
