next up....

Anthony Braxton - This Time (Actuel/BYG)

The 3 biggest lies ever told.

1. The check is in the mail.

2. I'll pull it out before I ....

3. I grade conservatively and do my best to note any flaws.

Tina Brooks - True Blue - Blue Note stereo (Japanese reissue)

Played back in mono for optimum sound, as RVG surely intended.

Not by the time he'd moved to Englewood Cliffs, though I wouldn't trust the mastering engineer to get the panning correct.

Next up a "conservatively graded" original pressing of Giuseppi Logan - More (ESPDISK). Graded "EX: a faint mark or scuff. doesn't effect the music in any way".

Actuel/Byg vinyl was a crapshoot when they were new. Never good, only "acceptable".

Yeah, I've come to expect that from BYG. However, there is a scratch that is visible w/ the naked eye and, more important, audible to the naked ear at the end of side one of "This Time". Seller described it as "mint minus". Don't even get me started on "Afrodisiaca".

Sigh....

Maybe I should just stick w/ digital.

Funkadelic - One Nation Under A Groove - WB UK pressing, double LP with the title track in a 45 rpm format on the last side. Ages before SH.

The dynamic is impressive, it even overload my Linn phono preamp! :o

Just playing a WB UK George Benson recently. Vinyl pretty thin but sound very good indeed !
