Chuck Nessa Posted May 24, 2008 Report Posted May 24, 2008 Actuel/Byg vinyl was a crapshoot when they were new. Never good, only "acceptable". Quote
Teasing the Korean Posted May 24, 2008 Report Posted May 24, 2008 Tina Brooks - True Blue - Blue Note stereo (Japanese reissue) Played back in mono for optimum sound, as RVG surely intended. Quote

Not by the time he'd moved to Englewood Cliffs, though I wouldn't trust the mastering engineer to get the panning correct. Quote
Chalupa Posted May 24, 2008 Report Posted May 24, 2008 Next up a "conservatively graded" original pressing of Giuseppi Logan - More (ESPDISK). Graded "EX: a faint mark or scuff. doesn't effect the music in any way". Quote
Chalupa Posted May 24, 2008 Report Posted May 24, 2008 (edited) Actuel/Byg vinyl was a crapshoot when they were new. Never good, only "acceptable". Yeah, I've come to expect that from BYG. However, there is a scratch that is visible w/ the naked eye and, more important, audible to the naked ear at the end of side one of "This Time". Seller described it as "mint minus". Don't even get me started on "Afrodisiaca". Edited May 24, 2008 by J.H. Deeley Quote
