six string Posted May 16, 2008 Report Posted May 16, 2008 More trippin' this morning (re: prev. post) but of a different variety. The Trip - Art Pepper (Contemporary) Trip! - Eddie Harris (Stereo Sounds) then I came back down to earth with The Summer Knows - Art Farmer (Inner City) Quote
sidewinder Posted May 16, 2008 Report Posted May 16, 2008 The Summer Knows - Art Farmer (Inner City) That one sounds pretty good (bought it about 30 years ago) but I'd love to hear the East Wind version. Just spinning Tal Farlow 'Trinity' (CBS/Sony - Teo Macero production) Quote

Chalupa Posted May 18, 2008 Report Posted May 18, 2008 (edited) Well I just finished my first listening to a recently purchased, pristine copy of Metamusicians' Stomp(Black Saint) by Andrew Cyrille & Maono. As I was taking the record clamp off the record I dropped it right on the vinyl. F*ck! It left two marks, one of which I can feel with my finger. After cursing for about a minute I put the record back on the deck and gave it a spin. I now have a nice, very audible, repeating click that lasts for about a minute or so right in the middle of a nice solo by Ted Daniel. Curse you VPI two piece record clamps! Edit: An hour and two beers later and I'm still pissed. That's the second mishap I've had w/ an album this week. Ugh. Edited May 18, 2008 by J.H. Deeley Quote
