Yep, I had the double LP, CBS italian pressing, since I was fifteen, I sold it when I got the Mosaic. Got a 6-eye double but it has been superceded by Mosaic. The 'edits' on the original suck. Teasing the Korean Posted May 9, 2008 Report Posted May 9, 2008 (edited) Duke Ellington--The Popular Ellington (RCA) Have you ever noticed that the version of "Take the A Train" on here doesn't settle into a groove until about halfway through the tune? Amazing that this take was approved. I'm speaking of my copy, BTW. No idea if this was corrected in later pressings. I'm talking about the part where the whole band kicks in. stuartjewkes Posted May 10, 2008 Report Posted May 10, 2008 The Fall - Imperial Wax Solvent. As good as anything else they've done in my opinion. Rollicking rockabilly and punk spirit pound from a youthful sounding MES with a liberal smattering of experimentation. You're a fool if you don't like The Fall (well at least if you haven't tried them). Quote
Teasing the Korean Posted May 10, 2008 Report Posted May 10, 2008 (edited) Villa-Lobos: Quatuor and Noneto, Roger Wagner Chorale and the Concert Art Players, Capitol FDS dark green label, mono. Chalupa Posted May 10, 2008 Report Posted May 10, 2008 (edited) Von Freeman - Doin' It Right Now (Atlantic) This really is a fabulous album. Too bad the piano sounds a little thin this because the rest of the recording is well balanced. John Young is playing his tail off. Sorry to be just discovering him after he passed.
