porcy62 Posted January 12, 2008 Report Posted January 12, 2008 (edited) Colin Walcott - GRAZING DREAMS - ECM, one of the forgotten records in my collection. A great Don Cherry on it! And Abercrombie too, never dull. And Palle Danielson always on the ball BTW Frankly I still don't understand how one can hates ECM's outputs, a lot of great music in its catalog. And thanks to M. Eichler almosts always available in the shops. Not bullshits in these big corporates' dark days. Edited January 12, 2008 by porcy62 Quote

Teasing the Korean Posted January 13, 2008 Report Posted January 13, 2008 Tim Buckley - Goodbye and Hello - Elektra mono. Does anyone know if this is a folddown? It sure sounds like a dedicated mono mix. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted January 13, 2008 Report Posted January 13, 2008 Not vinyl, but I spent the afternoon transferring my Konitz Prestige 78s to my hard drive. Missing 3 masters (I think) but the sound is much more dynamic and one take has never been reissued. Quote
sidewinder Posted January 13, 2008 Report Posted January 13, 2008 George Benson 'Give me The Night' (UK Warner). Just testing the hi-fi (at least that's my excuse). Miles Davis 'You're Under Arrest' (UK CBS). What a weird Davis album. Comedy farce on track 1 and armaggedon on the last track. Quote
BillF Posted January 13, 2008 Report Posted January 13, 2008 Introducing Carl Perkins (Dooto). A wonderful, but sadly largely forgotten, pianist! Quote

Eichler almosts always available in the shops. Not bullshits in these big corporates' dark days. I think their "Nordic island" sound actually works very well in some situations - Paul Motian's percussion sounds very detailed on his ECM recordings of the 1970s and early 80s. Quote
Teasing the Korean Posted January 13, 2008 Report Posted January 13, 2008 Homemade pesto and panini for dinner. Drinking red wine. Spinning Nino Rota's soundtrack for Fellini's "Satyricaon," one of the most deliciously delirious soundtracks ever recorded. United Artists, stereo. Quote
