That was my first Mingus record but not because of forethought or knowledge. At that time I had heard that Mingus was important and I didn't have any of his music. My copy was lost in a flood and I've never replaced that. I've forgotten about that album until now. Someday, I'll run across another copy and it'll be interesting to see what I remember from it.
