It's a good record - of course "early" and some of the ideas aren't totally jelled. Kind of like a mid-quality Graham Collier record, maybe?

Thanks - sounds just up my street.

I like the Vertigo more; it's different, more funky and a bit wild - it's called Dedicated to You, But You Weren't Listening (from a tune written by Hugh Hopper).

I'll look out for that one too - another that has been recently reissued on vinyl I think.

Saw Keith at Bath a year or so ago in a solo piano performance (plus assorted bricks and chimes etc.). That was wild !

Wilder still is that he named (or was in) a group called "Ovary Lodge."

Next I'll play the quadrophonic(!!) version of Ahmad Jamal's 'Tranquility' (ABC/Impulse), just for brownie! Beats even a good stereo pressing, don't you think? ;)

Trust you enjoyed it

Never heard the quadrophonic version. My Impulse is the stereo version. Great album!

Joe Henderson 'Page One' (1990s Toshiba pressing which has a very pleasant sound).

The King pressings seem to be universally held high in regard; the Toshibas are perhaps more uneven. I'll probably start a discussion about this one of these days - I suppose there are at least a handful of board members which will be able to offer some input on the matter.

Cannonball Adderley 'Somethin' Else' (another 90s Toshiba pressing).

Love Hank Jones' playing on the final vamp of Autumn Leaves - he's really one of the most sophisticated pianists jazz has had.

I have a few of the Toshibas (none of the Kings)--nice quiet surfaces and fine sound.

Blood Sweat and Tears eponymous release (Two Eye Columbia Stereo) I found this one yesterday still in the shrink wrap for $5.00! I didn't pay much attention to them when they first came out, but this is a pretty decent album and the sound quality is amazing.
