This morning it was The Pepper Knepper Quintet on Metrojazz followed by

Woody Shaw's Moontrane on Muse.

Those Muse recordings have never sounded very good to my ears, esepecially the drums. Is this due to a close miking technique? They sound so muffled to me. Of course, the music is excellent.
