Shannon Dickey Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 Clifford J.---SWELL MAPS rule!! I have almost all of the 7"s. Including the "Zip Nolan" 45. Listening to: Roland Kirk---"We Free Kings" Orig. Mercury. S'well Quote
michel1969 Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 Johnny Coles 'Little Johnny C' (BN NY USA mono. deep groove on side 1) I like this session ! Duke Pearson made a great job. Have you ever heard the Epic Session ? I've never found it. Nope - but I would like to hear it ! Saw one some years ago (probably at Mole Jazz). Not the greatest of condition so didn't go for it. Shame. I saw two copies in the previous years : one with a heavy ringwear and a(probably) accordingly trashed record. Another NM at around 475 $...definitely no regrets ! Quote

clifford_thornton Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 Clifford J.---SWELL MAPS rule!! I have almost all of the 7"s. Including the "Zip Nolan" 45. Indeed... though I have lately been preferring the post-Maps Nikki Sudden work, esp. Jacobites w/ Dave Kusworth. That first LP on Glass is a masterpiece! Right now, J.R. Monterose Alive In Amsterdam (Heavy Soul Music original), w/ Bennink, Groentjie, Steve Boston and Jan Jacobs... Quote
clifford_thornton Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 Bill Dixon - Intents and Purposes - (RCA-Victor original) Certainly a desert island record! Quote

I had been missing my copy since the FR conversation a week or so ago. My Mom came for a visit, album in tow. I'll be spinning it soon... Edited February 5, 2007 by ep1str0phy Quote
clifford_thornton Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 Yeah, I've spun it a couple of times since then. It's a classic, though I'll admit to having heard it very often - perhaps too often! Just finished: Jackie McLean - Destination Out! - (BN Liberty Stereo) Grachan's contributions are particularly outstanding! Quote

porcy62 Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 I solved my depression problem. Just received a mint copy of Beatles' White Album. Mono UK pressing, #0005734. It costed me a fortune, but surely it's cheaper then three years of psychoanalysis. Quote
